Magellan Petroleum Corp., the Denver, Colo.-based energy exploration company, promoted CFO Antoine Lafargue to chief executive officer. He succeeds J. Thomas Wilson, who resigned effective Aug. 5. Mr. Lafargue’s salary remained $300,224 upon appointment, the company said in a securities filing . Mr. Lafargue has served as CFO, treasurer and corporate secretary since June 2015 and was previously the company’s vice president of strategy and business development and chief commercial officer. Mr. Wilson is entitled to receive a severance payment equal to $300,000 in 12 equal monthly installments, subsidized insurance coverage for up to 18 months and payment for any accrued vacation or other benefits and reimbursement for certain business expenses.
China Life Insurance Company Ltd., said CFO Yang Zheng resigned on Aug. 8. The company is actively seeking approval of a new person to take charge of finance, China Life Insurance said in a securities filing. Mr. Yang was
named CFO in March 2013 and had held various roles at China Life Insurance since 2005. He earned a MBA from Northeastern University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
